Ronde de Bordeaux is a great variety for Northern climate, it is cold hardy up to -25 and tolerates wet winters pretty well. In Holland the figs are ready to eat from August to October/November which is the end of our season. The exterior is dark purple to black and the pulp is red. The figs are sweet and have a very distinctive full-bodied berry flavor. The figs can be used for all purposes. This variety is the one that keeps it's leaves the longest out of all my plants until the end of November.
Highly productive. Great quality ripe figs every year even in Dutch rainy summer.
